We have been oh-so excited to share this gorgeous styled shoot featuring our alternative wedding shoes with you. Why? Because it features that sunshine shade of yellow, and lots of it! The talented Pierra Photography captured the action, which went on to be featured by Magpie Wedding.
But before we begin, you can do away with any ideas of cute pastels – we’ll get creative with them another day. Instead, imagine a wedding crafted with kicks of yellow to add a fiesta-style accent to an altogether rockier scheme.
Think actual lemons for your place settings, yellow ribbons blowing in the breeze from your bouquet. Sunflowers, roses and yellow pompom style blooms adding floral edge to a bohemian macramé backdrop and tambourines teamed with leather jackets.

Suited and booted
The look for this shoot had lots of natural textures with a rocky twist. That made our alternative wedding shoes the perfect complement to the bride’s figure-hugging gown from Ivy Rose Brides. Echoing the same classic tones, our custom Doc Martens in bright white feature a striking contrast thanks to the jet black soles and rose gold laces to complement the bride’s hair.
Choose our alternative wedding shoes, from punky Dr Martens to cool Converse and comfy Vans, and the possibilities with personalisation are endless. You could keep it classic with the words ‘bride’ or ‘groom’ added with a colour co-ordinated heel tag.
If you’ll be changing your name, you could commission a pair of Mr and Mrs kicks. Add a sense of fun with letterings like ‘Just Married’ or ‘Established In’. Then elevate the entire design with Swarovski embellishment to extend the detailing of your dress. Whatever your style and spend, we’ll pair your ideas with the ideal alternative wedding shoes for you.
Putting on the glitz
Think rocking a pair of Doc Martens for a wedding simply won’t suit a conventional bridal look? This styled shoot will banish all those fears. Our ultra-cool kicks give dresses a deliciously alternative twist, adding a punch of personality to transform your style.
Whether teamed with an understated, figure-hugging gown with a statement jewelled belt, or with romantic lace and beading, these custom wedding shoes take the edgier elements of your outfit and run with them. They’ll make the most of your gown’s statement features and ensure your aisle style stays true to you.
Ramp up the accessories
Once you’ve chosen and personalised your alternative wedding shoes, it’s time to consider your other accessories too. Looking at the bigger picture will bring all your bespoke details together, creating a look that just screams you.
In addition we love to see our personalised Doc Martens paired with chunky metal bangles, perhaps inscribed with your wedding date, or with a custom leather jacket (a must for autumn/winter weddings!). Complete the look by going big on blooms with lots of statement flowers in your bouquet, an oversized flower crown or even asymmetric floral tambourines.
