Retro romance reimagined for the modern couple. A blush pink, sepia-toned vision. Vintage glitter balls and antique lampshades dance among tassel backdrops, floating flowers and luxe accessories, like white Doc Martens.
We were delighted to work with organiser Pierra G Photography on this gorgeous workshop at The Winding House. Our task? To design the perfect Doc Martens for this rocky, romantic look of golden days, which was captured perfectly.
Fronds and flowers
The sepia tones stem from the totally romantic flowers, where it’s actually grasses that take centre stage. Bohotanical opted for soft, fluffy fronds of pampas grass flower heads to fill the bridal bouquet with a pared-back whimsy.
The muted tones form an elegant contrast with the pops of decadent burgundy. Look to the delicate blooms of red burnet grass and persicaria to recreate the intensely romantic look.
The same palette of blooms fills the suspended floral plank, displayed on a modern, rose gold frame.
The rose gold accents extended throughout the gorgeous set-up. From the eclectic and abundant table setting to the confetti and the wedding party’s leather jackets too.
A plunging, corset-inspired bodice brings the bride’s look into the 21st century. Different takes on blush pink Doc Martens add a dash of vintage edge to the style, worked your way. They complemented the groom’s traditional braces and the bridesmaids’ rock-chick vibe.
Classic white wedding Doc Martens team with soft pink laces for a totally soft and romantic aesthetic. Coupled with bespoke lettering, ‘Crazy in Love’, this take on pink Doc Martens embodies the romantic, vintage style.
Add even more edge with black or burgundy toned boots and Swarovski detailing. These custom pink Doc Martens add another irresistible nod to the wider metallic theme. And for the party animals among us, you’ll love how they shine as you dance beneath the glitter ball.
Made you blush
Bringing the vision together at The Winding House were the whimsically styled tables. A sea of vintage lampshades formed a retro lighting feature, emulating modern style with retro detail. The silk table runner, linen serviettes and floral plates echo the same soft shades.
But it’s the glass that truly glistens, another twinkling twist to tie in with the glitter balls. From blush cocktail glasses to candlestick holders, the table takes on a glinting effect. I love the way it sings of the glamour of bygone eras.
Minimalist white vases, taper candles and backdrops at The Winding House frame the look. The effect is a delicate and romantic style, tailor made for the vintage couple’s modern love story.
