Minimony Dreaming: Intimate Weddings That Are Small in Scale and Big on Style
Picture your wedding and the first thing that springs to mind will usually be the venue. A laid-back tipi, edgy warehouse venue or beautiful country home. But this year we’ve all had to do things a little differently, including getting married! Venues have changed, guest lists have changed – but the love hasn’t.
And surprisingly, those guest list grapples fade away too. Because suddenly, you’ve traced your love story right back to the starring roles, to the people who matter the very most. The emotion is there. The excitement is there. Today, we want to show you that the beauty is there too.
Down sizing your guest list needn’t mean scaling back on style. Quite the opposite, in fact, because as you find yourselves bound by fewer traditions, it’s all to play for. Time to follow your dreams.
That’s the spirit this super real couple embraced as they tied the knot this year in their very own back garden. We hope it inspires you to follow your hearts and go for it too. Thank you to Alexandria Hall Photography for capturing the magic, and for the lovely couple for choosing personalised Converse.
Finding the one
We have to admit we got total butterflies when we saw the bride ready for the aisle. Gabriella had asked us to create a pair of personalised Converse so we had a clue already, but her Indie Bride London gown and Bish Bosh Becca jewellery just fit perfectly.
Gabriella’s dress was a delicate, ethereal, vintage vision of lace and we complemented that for her personalised Converse. A pure white design with elegant satin ribbon laces and delicate script on the sides and heel tags – her personalised Converse were comfy and trend-led but tied in effortlessly to her vintage styling too.
It all photographed perfectly with personalised hangers and whimsical details. A lovely way to share every detail of the day with those who are there in spirit this year.
Here come the boys
Our mission didn’t end there, as groom Jorge also tasked us with creating a custom groom’s pair. He teamed his sophisticated Keye London suit with a striking jet black pair of personalised Converse. Marrying the couple together, the script was the same, and white laces added a classic edge to his super stylish look.
The scene is set
Getting married at home on a more intimate scale needn’t mean forgoing the flowers or the decor. In fact, it’s an open invitation to style it up even more!
You’ve got beautiful green, open air spaces to work with, so arches, whether draped in gauzy fabrics, adorned in unfurling flowers, or colour popping with whimsical balloons, will instantly frame moments for you.
And there are plenty to consider – all those traditional moments happen at home too. Your cake cutting, your first dance (effortless with a pair of personalised Converse cushioning your party feet), and of course, your ‘I do’s.
Here at Wedding Converse, we want to encourage you to see your wedding differently. We want it to be yours for the making, whether that means a pair of personalised Converse on your feet or an offbeat, homespun celebration. Now is the time to be brave, to focus on love and happiness and to make memories exactly as you define them with your very closest family and friends cheering you on.
Rules on guest lists and locations may remain in place, but there are so many other wedding traditions you can still rewrite! Personalise your vows, your ceremony, your speeches (much less scary with a smaller crowd!). Make the day your own and start your next chapter as newlyweds. Minimony is a trend that’s here to stay. We can’t wait to help you celebrate.
