Into the woods – a clear direction, and yet somehow, those three simple words mean so much more. Scenes of filtered sunlight reaching through a leafy canopy, evocative visions of emerald greens and colours dripping with intensity… Natural, organic, authentic, but with a touch of magic, an air of mysticism and brushed with romance.
We’re huge fans of woodland weddings here at Wedding Converse HQ, so when we were invited to contribute to this dreamy outdoor wedding styled shoot, we simply couldn’t resist! The swoon-inducing images were captured by the super talented Caroline Opacic Photography. We hope you will fall just as hard for woodland weddings as we have!
Leaf peeping
The secret ingredient behind every outdoor wedding is the setting you choose. Rolling vineyards or open meadows, while no less beautiful, carve out a distinctly different atmosphere to a lush and leafy woodland. The warmth of the trunks standing tall to frame the moment and the canopy created by dancing leaves create an unrivalled sense of intimacy. The forest backdrop becomes an open-air room, one for you to style and celebrate.
For this styled shoot, it was all about the organic, to complement our natural setting. Cue effortlessly billowing drapes that catch the breeze and adorn the ceremony archway. Gauzy ribbons trailing from the bridal bouquet and cocooning the laid-back tipi. Macramé bunting and chandeliers drawing the eye upwards to the leafy ceiling above…
The aesthetic is relaxed, but oh-so romantic. Small in scale but big on impact, which is everything an intimate wedding should be.
Rust-ic romance
Continuing the richly toned colour palette of burgundy and red, gentle brushes of peach, pink and rust tie the whole scheme together. Peonies and roses add whimsy to the bride’s bouquet, enveloped in eucalyptus and foliage for a fabulously organic style.
It’s a style that continues to the bride’s wardrobe, too, with stunning lace detail on the bodice of her two-piece gown, and even extending to her shoes. We created a woodland trail-ready pair of 1970s classic wedding Converse, complete with antique satin laces and rust-toned Swarovski crystals for the ultimate woodland wedding kicks.
Comfort and couture working hand-in-hand for laid-back, tailor-made and totally personal style. Style that invites the couple to enjoy total freedom and dance beneath the treetops on their dream day. After all, isn’t that what an intimate outdoor wedding is all about?
Wed in the woods
Channelling the forest, shabby chic wooden furnishings completed the picture. Flowing fabric drapes, slender taper candles and flowers tumbling from every surface inspire a totally romantic effect. A table for two that felt every bit fitting for a couple’s best day ever, and decor to sweep them off their feet.
And on the fringe of the forest awaits a wildflower meadow. Heady with fragrance and dancing in the golden hour light, every moment of this woodland wedding styled shoot sings with magic.
