If there’s any excuse to get our gorgeous personalised Doc Martens off the runway and onto the feet of real couples, you’ll have a race to beat us signing up. That was the brief for today’s gorgeously punky styled shoot, which featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings. Pierra G Photography was the master behind the camera for this one.

We got together with a totally rock ‘n’ roll real couple, as well as some uber-cool partner vendors, to pull off the shoot of dreams. A punchy take on sparkle with glitter in all the right places, I hope you find plenty of inspiration for your own alternative wedding here.

Tattooed on our hearts

How could we ever fall out of love with this couple’s wedding look? Proof that letting your hair down and your personalities shine out totally rocks (and that our personalised Doc Martens are just the way to do it!).

The groom rocked the bowtie and braces combo and we love the shots later on with rolled up sleeves. They do say you wear your heart on them, after all.

Then there’s the bride’s totally epic aisle style, with a leather jacket, offbeat, textural flower crown and – of course – our personalised Doc Martens. Think brogue-style embellishment with hundreds of Swarovski crystals to bring the bling with authenticity and attitude. The cross-over, flutter-sleeved lace back of her gown added such a softness to the entire look, complemented by the delicate bird motif on her boots.

Feisty florals

Dried flowers, seed heads and fluffy tussocks of flowering grasses add oomph like no other to a bouquet or flower crown. Their often muted tones add a sepia-like twist to keep your floral look romantic and rock chick. Autumn and winter weddings are the natural time to tap into this trend. It’s also a time of year when your Doc Martens come in handy too – roaming your venue’s grounds knows no bounds with boots on your feet and hands to hitch up your hemline.

Wild and free

Falling in love often means throwing caution to the wind. It means chasing down dreams, opening your hearts and letting the adventures in. So, for this free-spirited couple, what could suit the shoot better than a Mustang wedding car?
